What can Brown do for you??

Yesterday Rylee woke up first so I grabbed a diaper and an outfit and headed down to our room to change him so that i didn't wake up Baylee - the outfit was a pair of brown pants and a sports themed onesie. When I started to put it on him there was no way I was going to let him wear it all day because it was stretched way too much in order to get the buttons to snap (it was a 6 - 9 month shirt) - as I have said these kids are growing like crazy. So I went back down the hall and opened the drawer and just picked up the first 9 month shirt I could find (as you can probably imagine if you know me very well i do have them organized by size) I didn't even give any thought to the color of pants that I had when what I grabbed was a brown shirt with blue letters. So needless to say my son went around all day yesterday looking like a UPS man. I decided since it was supposed to be the busiest shipping day we would wear it in honor of all of the people working out there :-)

The boys were baptized on Sunday and they did really well!! They didn't cry or fuss or anything when Dan poured the water over their head. They did both reach for his glasses and microphone but we kind of expected that.

They received a few gifts for their baptism so we thought we would let them open them to see how they would do for their upcoming birthday and for Christmas - needless to say I think we will be doing most of the unwrapping for those events or we may still be celebrating next year at this time. The bags were a hit to look at and bang on but they really didn't get the concept of pulling the things out of the bag and the tissue paper was just fun to chew on and bows were fun to look at.

After a much needed nap after the busy morning they went back to doing their normal activity....

And hanging out with daddy...

Seriously this is the main view I get of my children right now if I am in the living room....

Well they are starting to wake up from their nap so I better go - let's see what do the Fed Ex folks wear - maybe I can strive for that look today???? No big plans for today but tonight we have practice for the Christmas eve service at church - Terry is Joseph, I am Mary, and one of the boys will be baby Jesus - don't worry we have two services so we will hopefully be able to rotate so they both get to play the role. Have a great day!!

Saturday ramblings....

It has been a bit of a whiny day here at the Tolliver household - Rylee had a tooth cut through yesterday and Baylee is either close to having one cut through or is experiencing some of Rylee's pain because he has been super fussy and drooly today too. I did get a few shots of the kids playing - this is especially rare to get of Baylee anymore as all he wants to do now is head to either stoop and try to climb. Here is one of Baylee playing with his Pooh Bear that Grandma and Grandpa got him - well I should say playing with the tag on the Pooh Bear.
Here is a rare shot of the kids playing with the same toy for a period of time, it didn't last long so good thing I took the picture when I did.
Rylee is learning to defend his toys though - you can see here that he is hold his arm away from Baylee as he approaches to steal whatever prized possession may be in his hand at the time. You can also kind of see from the picture that he is keeping a close eye on him out of the corner of his eye.
I truly cannot get over how fast they are growing - they blow me away everyday!! Just take a look at how big these boys are getting . Just to let you know exactly how big they are getting - the outfits they have on in these pictures are 12 month outfits!!! They came home just 6 weeks ago and could still wear 3 month clothes!!! You can also see a bit of the drool we have been experiencing on Rylee's shirt in the first picture :-)
I know the post seems to be rather Rylee heavy today but that is because I was either holding Baylee, which I did most of the day - but don't mind a single bit - or i would get these shots as he was attempting to climb.
Rylee did pause from playing for a little while to watch daddy play the Wii....

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!! The boys are being baptized tomorrow so it will be a big day for all of us!!!

A new exercise plan....

One of my major struggles with my health / weight is even when I have lost weight in the past I still struggle with getting my exercise. However, I think that problem has been partially solved this week in my increased need to keep up with my children. Baylee can now get up on onto both stoops from the living room with really no effort at all. So about everytime i look up he is in the kitchen - that is still the preferred side to go to but yesterday afternoon I had the Christmas tree turned on and that was the target - before i knew it he was just inches away from the tree. Needless to say I have moved some of the ornaments so there are no breakable ones within reach..... As you can see from this picture he can move pretty fast - I went out to the garage to get something for dinner and he was in the kitchen with me - by the time i took the food in the kitchen and got things started he was already down at the end of the hallway. For those who haven't been to my house I took the picture from the entry to the kitchen and the hallway is leading out to the garage.
Here he is yesterday figuring out how to get into the front room with the hardwood floor - that took a little more effort at first since the floor is much slicker than in the kitchen but now that he has it down it is effortless....

Poor Rylee keeps trying but he just doesn't have it down yet - i think that 1/2" shorter that he is than Baylee is leading to the disadvantage. Baylee keeps trying to show him and mommy and daddy have been trying to help him as well but right now he is still getting frustrated but still trying.

When not trying to get up the stoop they have also discovered all of the movies...

We have a whole living room full of toys and things that they can play with but they are no longer interesting to the boys they much prefer the things they really shouldn't be getting into - imagine that :-)

Where does the time go...

Well I have good intentions everyday of posting but some days that just doesn't work out. On Sunday we worked on trying to get a Christmas picture that was just right - well with two 11 month olds who don't really understand "sit pretty, look at the camera, and smile" that just doesn't always work out. Here are a few of the attempts....

Needless to say mommy finally settled on one so look for it coming to a mailbox near you soon!! While maybe not the perfect picture - it is a pretty good one and like i said with two 11 month olds you kind of have to take what you can get sometimes :-)

So since we decided on a picture and I felt like I had to get my Christmas cards done and out (I am not used to having to piecemeal my Christmas shopping, decorations, etc but am happily learning to adjust this year) - the boys and I got to take a solo trip to Costco yesterday without daddy so we could pick up our cards!! It went fine - the boys fell asleep on the way up there and did great at the store and on the way home. We did some more foods yesterday - however, much to uncle Bob's dismay neither of the boys were thrilled with the doughnuts they were offered on Sunday at church!! Mommy's job just got a little bit harder this week with Baylee figuring out how to climb up the stoop leading to the kitchen - he ended up in there on his own twice yesterday!!

I have talked before about how much they like mirrors and usually fight over the little ones that they have as toys - well in their room their entire closet doors are mirrors and they LOVE those as well. Generally if I am doing something with one of them and the other one is on the floor they head right for the mirror and "play" with the little boy on the other side - it is sooooo cute. here is a picture of Baylee playing with his "friend" while I was changing Rylee...

Gotta love this Indiana weather - it is 46 degrees right now, which isn't bad considering it is December but it is pouring down rain outside. We do have a doctor's appointment today but other than that we will probably stay in and dry today - hope everyone is having a great day!!

What a week!!!

Whew it has been a busy week for us here in the Tolliver household - hence the reason for not many posts!! We had a few doctor's appointments this week and some other things to do so we have been on the run almost all week!! I think everyone is a little worn out. Mommy is ready for an afternoon at home and since it is snowing like crazy outside that is probably exactly what we will do.

This morning we had our annual breakfast with Santa and baby Jesus breakfast at church and guess who was baby Jesus - or should I say babies Jesus??
When we went to the doctor this week we were told we can start them on baby food so here we were at home on our first time being in our high chairs!!
We also got out some new toys this week and one of them had balls in it - it is so funny watching them because they will swat at the ball and it will roll away and then they chase it and the same thing happens again - it kind of reminds you of a cat chasing a ball but it is quite cute!!
As I am sure you have observed from the pictures I have posted on this and in the past our living room has been transformed into baby central - as i mentioned earlier we got some new toys out this week but here is what Baylee really wanted to play with...the box!!!

Becky found some antlers for the boys to wear...aren't they too cute!!

Rylee was not willing to give up his hand in order to take the picture!!!

ok time to end this post - the boys are mad at me for taking away the new toys they had discovered!!!!!!!

If you can't tell by the picture or don't know what they are it is the controllers to our Wii!! Mind you these were up on the TV cabinet and i thought out of reach but i think the cord must have been hanging out just enough that they were able to grab it!!

Slacker...

ok this time I admit what my mother so often likes to put in her comments when I am not timely with my postings!! I have been a slacker the last few days and haven't posted and haven't got many pictures either. We had doctor appointments on Monday and so that kind of threw off the whole day for the boys because we had to be there at 7:45 so they got up and moving a little earlier than normal and then were kind of off for the rest of the day. Yesterday and today the boys have been a little fussy and not really all that smiley - one or both have them have been pretty clingy and so that makes it hard to take pictures. I did get this one just a few minutes ago though - apparently Baylee is not as fond of the Jumperoo as Rylee is - I was in the other room with Rylee and I came back and found Baylee like this....

Needless to say he is up in his crib now...

we have three appointments tomorrow so I am not sure if there will be an update tomorrow or not. I don't know if I mentioned it on my last posting or not but at their appointment on Monday they weighed 17.6 & 17.7 pounds - see I told you they were growing fast, they have each put on over 2 pounds since coming home just 4 1/2 weeks ago!!

Snowy Monday

It flurried here almost all day which really put me in the mood for winter - now mind you this is because I was inside for most of the day. i don't like to be out in the cold weather but I really like to look at it!!

As I looked again at my posting from yesterday I realized that my favorite picture of Rylee did not get posted from the pictures I was trying to take for the Christmas cards so here it is - this picture of him just cracks me up every time i look at it!!

Here is a shot of the boys helping me do laundry today....

I would like to say this is one of Baylee winking at me - or giving his best Popeye the Sailor impression but actually it is his reaction to the flash going off!!
